Meet & Greet w/ new Atchison Area United Way Director

Nonprofit Atchison Area United Way has hired Jaimie Kirby as its new Director. Kirby currently resides on a not quite two-acre postage stamp on the border of Atchison and Leavenworth counties outside of Potter, Kansas. Her versatile professional career has included teaching, tutoring, and mentoring in higher education as well as negotiating contracts for cybersecurity companies. Kirby’s maternal roots are from northeast Kansas, which are often the focus in her blog Worth the Salt and featured predominantly in her MFA thesis that contained braided lyric essays interweaving landscape, history, and memoir. She ascribes to Dorothy Parker’s motto that “Creativity is a wild mind and a disciplined eye”.
The United Way of Atchison County Board saw a need for someone community centered, visionary, and passionate for United Way initiatives. Kirby exceeds in all these areas. The support and professional relationships that Jaimie will build with Atchison leaders, partners, and the community will be the tie that binds our community.
Join us, Thursday, May 9th from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Whiskey Depot for a meet and greet with Jaimie Kirby and the Atchison Area United Way Board.
