Jackson Park

About

With its rolling wooded hills and scenic overlooks, Jackson Park has a long and storied history. At one time known simply as “City Park,” Jackson found new life in the early 1900’s when Zaremba E. Jackson, a prominent citizen and public official, spear-headed a push to improve the park. In honor of his efforts, city leaders renamed the park for Jackson’s contributions.

Today, Jackson Park is an expansive park property that offers visitors walking trails, picnic spots, frisbee golf, playgrounds, and more. The park covers more than 100 acres, dappled by open green space and natural, wooded areas for bird-watchers and natural enthusiasts. Drive or hike more deeply into the park to see breath-taking views of the Missouri River meandering its way downstream.
